Schedule
Our league has adopted the standard ESPN Fantasy Regular season and Playoff schedule of 14 Regular Season matchups, followed by 3 one-week Playoff rounds, concluding our season with NFL Week 17. We will not play NFL Week 18.
Playoffs
Round 1 - NFL Week 15
Round 2 - NFL Week 16
Round 3 - NFL Week 17
6 teams will make the playoffs. The Top 5 are seeded based on standings, with the Top 2 earning first round byes. The 6th and final playoff spot is awarded based on Total Points scored in the regular season between the remaining 7 teams that didn’t make the playoffs based on win/loss record.
So even if your record isn't good enough, you can still make the playoffs if your team scored more points throughout the season than any of the other bottom 6 teams. That's incentive to keep fielding a competitive team each week, despite your win/loss record!
The 6 teams that do not make the playoffs will compete in a 3-round tournament for Total Points scored. The winner of each head-to-head matchup will not matter. The team with the most combined Total Points scored over that three-week period will be declared the winner of the Consolation Ladder, and awarded the Toilet Bowl along with 1st choice of Draft position next season.
For the 2 playoff teams that fail to advance into the 2nd round, they will compete against one another for Total Points scored over the remaining 2 weeks (NFL Weeks 16-17). The winner will be awarded 5th place and 2nd choice of Draft position next season.
Fractional Scoring
Because EVERY YARD matters in football…
EVERY POINT should too! Here’s how it works:
In the case of a Running Back, each rushing yard will net your fantasy team 0.1 points. So if Frank Gore runs for 95 rushing yards, he will earn you 9.5 points. Each receiving yard will net your fantasy team 0.1 points, or 1 point for every 10 yards. Passing yards are worth 0.04 points, or 1 point for every 25 yards. Negative yards will also apply. So if a Running Back loses 5 yards, 0.5 points will be deducted from that player's point accumulation.
Free Agents
The league uses the Free Agent Auction Bidding format for acquiring Free Agent players off the waiver wire. This allows everyone the same chance at all the players every week. Owners will have a $100 virtual budget with which they can make player acquisitions during the season. If an owner would like to add a player, that owner will secretly bid a certain amount from their available virtual budget, in the hopes of out bidding the others. On the waiver process day, the owner with the highest bid will be awarded the player, and the amount they bid will be subtracted from that owner's virtual budget.
The minimum bid an owner can make on a free agent is $0. This means an owner can bid $0 on a player and still win if no one else bids on that player. This will enable an owner to still pick up a player late in the season if they blow through their budget.
Waiver processing days will be Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays @ 12:00PM ET. All bids must be submitted prior to these days and times.
Injured Reserve (IR) Slot
Only players with the Injured Reserve (IR) or Out (O) tags are eligible for placement into an IR slot. Players tagged as Questionable (Q), or Doubtful (D) are not eligible to be moved into the IR slot. At its most basic and simple level, when you place an eligible player into the IR slot, you gain an open roster slot. When that player becomes healthy, you must make room for them on your roster again.
Where it can get tricky is when the status of your player in the IR slot changes. Say for example you have a player currently in your IR slot who gets upgraded to Questionable (Q), or Doubtful (D). That player can remain in the IR slot as long as the owner does not attempt to make any free agent acquisitions. If the owner tries to submit a Free Agent claim, they'll get a warning message informing them that they need to move the ineligible player out of the IR slot first, dropping a player if necessary to make room on their roster.
In another example, if a player in your IR slot becomes healthy after you submitted a Free Agent claim, but before the claim processes, the claim will still go through as normal. However, you will need to drop a player to free up a roster slot before you can move the now healthy player out of the IR slot.
Trades
When a trade is agreed upon and reported to the league, other teams have 48 hours to make a public counter offer to either side. After this window closes, if no other offers have been made, the trade goes through. If counter offers have been made, either owner may pull out of the original deal in order to accept one of the counteroffers, which will immediately be binding. Teams may not make two trades in the same season involving the same player. No trades are possible after the trade deadline passes.
Competitive Teams
Owners who fail to set a competitive lineup each week, by neglecting to substitute injured, ruled out, or bye-week players, are subject to dismissal from the league at the commissioners sole discretion. In the event a team is abandoned during the season by their owner, the commissioner will lock the team from any further roster changes, and set the starters every week based on ESPN weekly rankings. The owner will forfeit all monies paid or season ending winnings to the league.
Weekly Prizes, $10 awarded each week
